To the Almost Christian

Excerpt: “This is the beauty of the Gospel: you can’t pick yourself up, but neither do you have to stay down, because Christ will carry you. When you trust Him fully, He will carry you all the way home to heaven’s eternal shores.”

How To Love Your Neighbor On the Vaccine

Excerpt: “The Bible says:“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ…Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.” (Colossians 2: 8) No one should pass judgement on you on the vaccine either. You have a righteous basis for getting the vaccine—and you have a righteous basis for not getting the vaccine.”

California, LA County both to pay $400,000 settlement to John MacArthur’s Church

Excerpt: “The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday (Aug. 31) voted to authorize a $400,000 payment to settle a legal battle with Grace Community Church over lead pastor John MacArthur’s defiance of COVID-19 restrictions in the early months of the pandemic. Under the agreement, which the board unanimously approved without discussion, the state of California will also pay the church $400,000. This agreement, county officials said, was reached in the context of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in February that told California it couldn’t enforce a ban on indoor worship because of the coronavirus pandemic. LA County modified its health order and lifted the indoor worship ban after the ruling.”

Primer On Postmillennialism (2)

Excerpt: “postmillennialism teaches that Christ wins the victory in history, before he returns (hence, it is post-millennial). It offers believers the optimistic prospect of earthly victory and historical hope.” It’s good to review if you know it. It’s even better to be informed of hope in hopeless times, if you don’t.

Va. Supreme Court sides with teacher who refuses to use transgender student pronouns

Excerpt: “The Virginia Supreme Court this week upheld a lower court's ruling that reinstated a Loudoun County teacher who was suspended for refusing to use the preferred names and pronouns of transgender students.”

Did Dinosaurs Shrink to Become Anteaters and Birds?

“From a creation perspective, we must first recognize that where most fossils are found says little to nothing about where the animal actually lived—merely where it was buried.”

Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day, therefore the best things to be reminded to ponder then and always…

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." (Philippians 4:8)
